The lowly cabbage: food for peasants or pigs. More fool anyone with that attitude. Cabbage is one of the world's healthiest foods, rich in antioxidants with detoxifying properties. With numerous anticancer properties it's particularly known to assist with oestrogen metabolism and protect against breast cancer. It's also another food that will stay fresh in the fridge for ages.

Ingredients
4 fillets Dory
1 tbsp ginger, grated
2 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 cup cabbage, finely sliced
1 carrot grated
2 cups beansprouts
Method

Marinate the fish in the ginger, mirin and shoyu for one hour.

Drain the fish from the marinade and wrap loosely in foil and place in a steamer. Steam for 15 to 20 minutes.
While the fish is cooking heat the sesame oil in a wok to hot. Stir fry the veggies for 3 minutes. Stir through the remaining marinade and serve with the fish over the top.

Note : an American study found that the incidence of breast cancer in Polish women tripled after they migrated to the US and adopted the American diet. The typical Polish diet includes approx 14kg cabbage each year, more than double the amount Americans consume.
