Served with vegetables this is a popular and healthy dish with busy toddlers. One serve of this dish provides over 1/3 the RDI calcium a day for 1 - 3 year old children.

*RDI calcium children 1 - 3 years is 500mg

Ingredients
¼ cup cheddar cheese, grated
1¼ cups whole-wheat macaroni, cooked and warm
Method

On low heat, melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the flour and whisk to form a paste. Slowly add the milk and whisk until smooth.

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer then whisk in the cheese until the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat and gently mix the sauce through the cooked pasta. Serve.
