Large lumps of octopus tentacles can be visually off-putting and tough. Ask your fish merchant specifically for small pieces or trim them down in size before cooking. This marinade imparts a delicious sesame flavour through the octopus and also helps tenderize the pieces. It can be cooked on a grill indoors or the hot plate of your BBQ - either way it's delicious.

Ingredients
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp lime juice
1 red-eye chilli finely chopped
1 kg baby octopus, washed and trimmed into small pieces
1 bunch watercress, washed and trimmed
150 grams cherry tomatoes

Sesame dressing:
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp tamari
Method

Combine the sesame oil, lime juice and chilli and pour over the octopus. Set aside to marinate for 1 hour.

Heat a grill pan to hot and char grill the octopus for 3 - 5 minutes until cooked through.
Combine the dressing ingredients.
Arrange the watercress and tomato on individual plates with the grilled octopus on top.
Drizzle with dressing and serve.

Note: As a source of protein, octopus equals red meat yet provides double the amount of iron and similar quantities of zinc. It's also significantly lower in fat with almost no saturated fat.
