Free Healthy Recipe - Porridge with a Twist

This version of porridge uses organic low fat milk, certified by the National Association of Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) which means you are assured of drinking a product free from synthetic pesticides, fertilisers and herbicides. It's a delicious nutrient dense breakfast with a low GI to give you sustained energy throughout the morning.

Ingredients
pinch sea salt
½ tsp cinnamon
1 cup water
¼ cup walnuts, chopped
stewed fruit to serve
Method

Place the oats, organic milk, sea-salt, cinnamon and water in a pan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer and stir continuously for 5 minutes.

While the porridge is cooking heat the chopped walnuts in a small fry pan and dry roast for 3 - 4 minutes until they are lightly toasted.

Pour the porridge into bowls and serve with the walnuts, some chopped or stewed fruit and a little splash of extra milk.
