Marigold
There are a number of varieties of marigold. The edible marigold flower has a citrus scent and a spicy, herbal flavour. Marigolds range in colour from buttery yellow to a deep, rich orange.The French marigold has a yellow or red flower and is used in Africa and India to colour foods (butter, cheese, etc.). Marigold leaves are used as a seasoning in central Africa.
