Bread - Rice
Rice bread is a good alternative for those with wheat or gluten intolerance as it is made from ground brown or white rice flour. The slices are quite gritty and porous, but their quality improves when toasted.
Buy rice bread in the refrigerated or frozen section of a health food store. Many contain added fruit juice, dairy or sweetener so if trying to avoid dairy or eggs check labels first.
Store in a plastic wrap at room temperature if using within a week, otherwise a good idea is to freeze portions separately and thaw when needed.
Tips & Tricks:
Be careful when handling rice bread as it crumbles easily.
