Snowpea sprouts are the new shoots from the snowpea plant. They have long, pale green stems and small leaves that are delicious in stir-fries, steamed, or raw in sandwiches.
Usually sold in the supermarket or greengrocer in plastic boxes. Look for fresh, crisp sprouts with no discolouration or dampness.
Store in the container or a plastic bag in the crisper section of the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Tips & Tricks:
Make your own sprouts with a sprouting jar. Soak the seeds overnight then drain and fill the jar with fresh water. Drain and replace the water twice a day and sit the jar on its edge to ensure the seeds are moist but not soaking wet. Snowpea sprouts are ready to use when the shoot is approx 8cm long.
Add to stir-fries. Delicious raw in sandwiches.
