Free Healthy Recipe - Cranberry and Chocolate Slice
Low fat, Low GI, Wheat Free
Cranberries or dried sour cherries are both delicious to use in this tangy chocolate treat. But remember that they are a treat. Stop after you have eaten one and don't eat them every day.
1½ cups rolled oats
1½ cups wholemeal spelt flour
1 cup dried cranberries
½ cup walnuts or pistachios
½ cup dark muscovado sugar
1 tsp allspice
50 grams dark 70% cocoa chocolate
1½ cups low fat milk or alternative
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Combine all the dry ingredients together in a bowl, and mix thoroughly
Line a shallow baking tray with baking paper and spread the mixture across the tray.
Makes 20 servings (serve = 1 square)
