



Free Healthy Recipe - Ground Mint Chutney
Dairy free, Low carbohydrate, Low fat, Low sugar, Wheat Free
In India a chutney (or chatni) is made from crushing fresh seasonal or local fresh ingredients. Preserving agents, such as sugar and vinegar are not used as chutneys in India are made to be eaten straight away - a much better way to preserve the integrity of the nutrients.

Ingredients
1 cup mint
8 shallots
2 fresh green chillies
2 cloves garlic, crushed
pinch salt
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp garam masala
4 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp water

Method
Place the mint, shallots, chilli, garlic, salt, maple syrup, garam masala, lime juice and water in a food processor. Blend the ingredients until smooth, adding a little extra water if required. Note: Garam masala is a blend of fennel seeds, cinnamon, caraway seeds, pepper, cloves and green cardamom seeds. Quality spices can be purchased through www.herbies.com.au Makes 4 servings
